Welcome to Southend

Hello, Southenders!

My name is Sonjia Parker.  My husband, Max, and I moved to Charlotte from Cleveland, living first in Uptown before buying our dream home in Southend.  We've been in the neighborhood for over a decade now and watching its growth (along with all of Charlotte's) has been astounding.  With such fast-paced growth, though, comes the challenge of creating a sense of community and finding lasting friends.

For a long time now we've wanted to contribute to Southend and to find a way to help others put down roots here.  (And if you're only here for a year or two, we'd love for that time to be meaningful.)

Max and I believe in sustainable growth, local businesses, vibrant arts, and true friendships.  And that's what we'll be promoting on Welcome to Southend.

And so we're excited to present this website and blog to you!  We're here to help you meet and get to know the people and businesses that make Southend a home.  Your home.
