About southend
In the 1960's The Charlotte Art League formed and settled in on Camden Road in Southend. As usual, the rent was cheap and the neighborhood was...interesting. In 1993, the ParksCramer factory was converted into live/work spaces and retail and renamed the Atherton Lofts and Mill. Over time, many designers and artists moved to the area and started the push for the Lynx system. After that, the area's culture and nightlife exploded into the young, hip, interesting place it is today.
On any given day you can see people running, biking, walking their dog, and generally having a blast.
